The cluster is composed of 2 nas servers:

- bioinfo-nas.ird.fr (91.203.34.157) which hosts the partitions /home, /teams and /data2

- bioinfo-nas2 (91.203.34.160) which hosts the partition /data

1)To transfer data to the cluster, you first have to determine which shared partition you want to use:

- /home is your home directory

- /teams is a shared directory between your team's member

- /data/projects shared directory between the members of your project

- /data2/projects shared directory between the members of your project

Use the following scheme to determine which parameters to choose:

Once the data is on the cluster if you want to use them for analysis you first have to copy them to a local directory of a node.

2) To do that, you have 2 choices:

   - use qrsh to obtained a reserved node

  - use a script launched via qsub.

In either case, you have to use the following commands on the node:

mkdir /scratch/directory_name_you_want

scp -r login@bioinfo-nas.ird.fr:/home/login/directory_to_copy  /scratch/directory_name_you_want  ( to transfer a directory)

scp  login@bioinfo-nas.ird.fr:/teams/team_name/file_to_copy  /scratch/directory_name_you_want  ( to transfer a file)

scp  login@bioinfo-nas.ird.fr:/data2/projects/projects_name/file_to_copy  /scratch/directory_name_you_want  ( to transfer a file)

or

scp -r login@bioinfo-nas2.ird.fr:/data/projects/project_name/directory_to_copy  /scratch/directory_name_you_want ( to transfer a directory)

scp login@bioinfo-nas2.ird.fr:/data/projects/project_name/file_to_copy  /scratch/directory_name_you_want  ( to transfer a file)

Replace the bold parameters with your own

3) Transfer data from your node scratch to your shared partition:

scp -r /scratch/directory_name_you_want    login@bioinfo-nas.ird.fr:/home/login/destination_directory  ( to transfer a directory)

scp   /scratch/directory_name_you_want/file_to_copy   login@bioinfo-nas.ird.fr:/teams/team_name/destination_directory ( to transfer a file)

or

scp -r /scratch/directory_name_you_want  login@bioinfo-nas2.ird.fr:/data/projects/project_name/destination_directory ( to transfer a directory)

scp   /scratch/directory_name_you_want/file_to_copy login@bioinfo-nas2.ird.fr:/data/projects/project_name/destination_directory  ( to transfer a file)
